The Science Behind OsteoStrong
OsteoStrong sessions utilize a series of specially designed musculoskeletal treatment devices that allow axial compression of bone to emulate the effect of impact. Over time, these guided, progressive exercises have helped many individuals become stronger and delivered measurable increases in bone density.
The equipment is designed so that you are always in the correct position to achieve the greatest benefit. Because of the optimized positioning your body, loading forces go through the bones to a higher degree than those seen in daily activity or exercise. For example, a force of 4.2 times body weight is the minimum required force to trigger bone growth in the hip joint (the most important place to avoid fracture) and peak forces with adults in conventional resistance exercise only show 1.26 to 1.54 multiples of body weight.
Heavy loading is already understood and recommended by all international bodies of medical education, but at OsteoStrong, we make it safer.
How Do I Get Started?
Getting started is easy! The first step is scheduling a time for your Complimentary Session. You'll get a tour of our studio, learn more about the process, and experience a full session. You don't need to bring any special equipment or wear any special clothes. You will feel comfortable wearing anything from business casual to regular street clothes (although you may prefer to wear pants, shorts, or slacks instead of a skirt or dress.)
